The CRF, in collaboration with The Dialogue, convened a high-level roundtable to explore pathways for building a sustainable and responsible AI ecosystem in India. Intel served as the Technical Partner for the roundtable. The discussion brought together stakeholders from the technology, data centre development, and policy ecosystems to examine India-specific priority areas for AI and develop a forward-looking roadmap for AI infrastructure. Key discussions focused on the environmental implications of AI and data centre growth, including energy and cooling requirements; policy and governance frameworks; technological and strategic capabilities; and India’s role in shaping global AI governance and sustainability standards. The roundtable also explored how AI can contribute to inclusive economic development, public service delivery and broader societal outcomes.
