The conference on 15 May 2026, titled “India–East Africa Economic Integration: Opportunities and Challenges,” will focus on examining the on-ground challenges faced by private businesses operating in East Africa and exploring practical pathways for deeper economic engagement. As trade and investment ties between India and the East African region continue to expand, businesses encounter a range of constraints, including regulatory complexities, market access barriers, infrastructure gaps, financing limitations, and logistical bottlenecks.

It will also explore actionable solutions to improve the ease of doing business, strengthen supply chains, enhance institutional support, and foster greater public-private collaboration. By highlighting both constraints and opportunities, the discussions aim to identify a clear way forward for facilitating smoother trade and investment flows, thereby advancing a more resilient and mutually beneficial India–East Africa economic partnership.
