India’s transition towards Viksit Bharat 2047 and Net Zero 2070 requires a power system that is clean, reliable, resilient and strategically secure. In this context, Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) are emerging as a promising low-carbon energy solution capable of providing continuous, high-quality power for mission-critical sectors such as defence manufacturing and data centres, which are rapidly expanding while also facing challenges to decarbonise operations.

Against this backdrop, this dialogue, organised by Chintan Research Foundation (CRF) and Finovista with the support of Manthan (initiative of the Office of Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA)), aims to bring together stakeholders from government, industry, academia and the strategic community to deliberate on the technological, regulatory, financial and deployment pathways for integrating SMRs into India’s strategic infrastructure and energy transition.
