Climate Futures Through a Gender Lens
The Chintan Research Foundation (CRF) hosted a thought-provoking dialogue titled “Climate Futures Through a Gender Lens”. The session brought together leading voices from research and advocacy to explore how gendered experiences intersects with climate impacts. The session sought to focus on identifying concrete entry points for embedding gender-responsive design in India’s climate policy, clean energy ecosystem and adaptation and mitigation frameworks. The dialogue underscored that India’s energy transition must go beyond metrics of investment and technocratic flavor of conversations. These discussions must include all stakeholders of society, especially women who are primary managers of local, ground-level change through plentiful social, political, economic and psychological machinery. India needs to treat gender-related discourses for climate change as more than a mere checkbox and go beyond to full-scale inclusion which is "just".
