Dr. Amlan Dutta is a Senior Research Consultant at the Chintan Research Foundation. He was formerly a Fellow at the Prime Minister's Museum and Library (PMML), Teen Murti House, New Delhi, where he submitted a book-length manuscript on India's policy towards East Asia and the Indo-Pacific. He was also an Assistant Professor at the Rashtriya Raksha University (An Institution of National Importance), Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India. He has completed his PhD in the Department of East Asian Studies at the University of Delhi. He has previously also contributed to the drafting and compilation of the Annual Report (2019) of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Govt. of India. He was also the recipient of the Mitsubishi Corporation International Scholarship. He has delivered talks and presentations in foreign universities and institutes such as the National Kaohsiung Normal University in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences in Hanoi, Vietnam, and the University of Tokyo in Tokyo, Japan. His primary focus areas are East Asian Domestic Politics and Geopolitics, India’s Indo-Pacific policy, Security Studies, and maritime security.
