Nayan Jhangiani

Nayan Jhangiani is an economist and trade policy professional from Centre for WTO Studies currently deputed to the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, where she works on plurilateral and multilateral trade negotiations. She has contributed to India’s engagement under BRICS, G20, SCO, and other plurilateral arrangements, with experience in negotiation drafting, trade policy analysis, and consensus-building across complex international economic issues. Her work spans areas including global economic governance, digital trade, services, climate-related trade discussions, and emerging technologies. She has contributed to the preparation of negotiation inputs and outcome documents for high-level ministerial dialogues and international economic forums. Her research interests lie at the intersection of international trade, development, geopolitics, and multilateral economic cooperation. She holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics.
